Changes to Municipality of McCreary Operations
The Municipality of McCreary will be changing some aspects of its operations to ensure
the safety of its staff, the McCreary Volunteer Fire Department, the staff of the McCreary
Recreation Commission and municipal recreation facilities as well as the public during the
COVID-19 pandemic, based upon the most recent directives from Province of Manitoba,
Manitoba Public Health, Health Canada and The Government of Canada.
Effective immediately, please note the following:
-        The Administration Office for the Municipality of McCreary at 432 First Avenue will be
closed to the general public.  Payments can be made via cheque or cash by using the drop-box
located just inside the first set of doors at the main entrance at the front of the building from
9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Monday to Friday, by regular mail or electronically through your       
financial institution.  Communication with municipal staff and the recreation director can occur
by email or telephone.
-        The Public Works Shops will be closed to the general public. The Water and Sewer
Utility, Snow Removal in case of a snow storm and recycling pickup will operate as usual using
physical distancing practices and personal protection equipment as required;
-        All Recreation facilities, indoor and outdoor sport facilities will be closed.
-        The Waste Disposal, Recycling Site and Recycling Depot Building will operate as usual
using physical distancing practices and the mandatory requirement of face masks;
-        The McCreary Volunteer Fire Department will be closed to the public.  Fire services will
operate as usual using physical distancing practices, personal protection equipment and other
practices as may be necessary;
-        The Bulk Water Station will operate as usual with the use of physical distancing practices
and the mandatory requirement of face masks.

In case of an emergency that requires the response of the fire department, an ambulance or the
Royal Canadian Mounted Police nothing has changed.  Please call 911 in case of an emergency.
Because the Municipality of McCreary takes this situation seriously and values the health and
safety of everyone in our community, the Municipality will review and update this plan as the
authorities provide new information and as the situation evolves.  The Municipality of
McCreary also encourages event organizers, businesses and residents to heed the warnings and
restrictions and follow the directives as best as possible.
